it’s been finally raining properly these last few days and it’s really starting to feel like the summer is over - which in actuality, it is. i went to london to see gina the other day and we went around shopping and got a coffee. i’ve also got some more tshirts to do prints on, this time in red, sadly the yellow ink doesnt show up but i printed the design onto some spare fabric and am going to sew it on. on thursday, me, oscar, imogen, and seb went to see ulrika spacek perform - they we’re incredible, such a tight performance and the sound was just amazing. afterwards we decided it would be a good idea to watch a film, namely all about lily chou-chou - which is 2h30m - and as a result i didn’t get home until around 3:00am. i’d say it was worth it though.

today was a busy day. me, oscar, imogen and her friend georgia had decided to go on a walk to devil’s dyke at 9:00am. this meant i had to wake up at 7:00am to make some hummus before leaving at around 8:30am to catch the bus from the train station. however, we made it in time and the walk was lovely, amazing views from on top of the downs and the basin at devil’s dyke was just as impressive - what you’d expect from a 14,000 year old natural formation. me and oscar treked down to the mouth of the basin where accoring to folklore the graves of the devil and his wife sit. we had the idea to use this story as a basis for a fluxus event score for our class - oscar ran backwards around each mound. i had also recently purchased a new polaroid and took it on this walk.

3rd year of university started yesterday, it was nice to see everyone on the course again - all 15 or so of them. it was mine and oscar’s first time biking all the way there from ours and it was rather nice, flat and not too far. today on the way back we took a detour to go to the garden centre, the route took us up to a nice vantage point in the south downs, i’m sure you could see lewes from there. unfortunately we didn’t get what we wanted from the garden centre, tomatoes aren’t in season now. i also recently got a new amp, a late 70’s Peavey 130 watt.

over the last few days i’ve been cooking + baking a lot - the oven is finally working. i made a milk bread loaf, butter chicken (with halloumi instead) + homemade roti, and a mixed berry compote; all in all a success. i also finally got around to making my musette bag after getting some canvas fabric from a stall in the open market. the pocket on the front was suppose to house my camera but ended up too small, it now holds my keys and wallet. as autumn arrives the sunsets have been getting more and more beautiful.

gina came to stay for the night on friday and we went to the aquarium - it was a pretty sad sight but she enjoyed seeing the sharks. we watched how to lose a guy in 10 days which was guite good, it was my first time seeing it. after i took her to the station the next day, i took my bike to the seafront and saw loads of sailing boats out on the water - i wonder what they were all doing? i made sweet potato halves for the first time and oscar gave me the idea for the tahini dressed chickpeas - great shout - and i’ve also started a sourdough starter, we’ll see how long it lasts. finished cleaning my room today and it’s looking pretty good.

three quarters of the house (me, oscar, and gus) went to joseph’s house warming tonight - he’s always in a house with the most random layout, this time it’s basically a circle and a mysterious garage. i left rather early, around 11:30, and walked past seb’s new house, which was also hosting a party - we’d been earlier, and saw everyone dancing in purple light through the window. today was also the first good sunset i’ve been able to see from the bay window in my room.

me, oscar, imogen, and lucian went to see celine and julie go boating (1974) at prince charles cinema in london. we ate at bao first after finally getting a booking, we were at the rather bouje, new york style location in blackfriars - i had a pork bao (not pictured - already eaten), tofu dan dan noodles, a plum negroni, and a brown sugar bubble tea. we missed the very start of the film but it was pretty good, very long but very charming - a sweet watch. a mouse showed up halfway through the viewing and we were sat front row.
